Blashford Lakes Trip

Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Blashford Lakes to support our Geography learning about rivers and our local river, the Avon. We began the day exploring a pond, where we discovered some amazing creatures – including a few newts! From the bird hide, we enjoyed spotting wildlife around the lakes, remembering to keep our voices to a whisper so we didn’t disturb them.

After lunch, we pulled on our wellies and headed to the river. We investigated how the river flows, measured the depth at different points, and observed the way it meanders. While exploring, we found fish, shrimp, a variety of larvae, and many other fascinating creatures.

It was a brilliant day of hands-on learning, and we are excited to continue our studies of the River Avon back in class!
